You Have a College Degree: So What?
Posted on November 20th, 2009 1 comment
In wealthy countries such as the United States, many things that were once highly valued (and still are valued abroad) have lost their glitter. One example of this is a college Education. Not too long ago a College education was a big deal. But these days, it’s practically the equivalent of a high school diploma. Many things in the U.S. like education, now have diminished value, and a College education is one perfect example. These days you not only been a bachelors degree to get a decent job, in many cases you need a Masters degree, MBA or PHD.
According to the world bank, approximately 31% of the U.S. population has completed post secondary education. Compared to 8.2% in 1950. The U.S. has the highest level of college graduates, even among other highly developed nations. For example Germany is at 11%, and Japan is at 15%.
But the numbers get even lower if we look at developing nations. In Brazil for example the number of post secondary educated people in the country is just 5.7%, Colombia is at 6.7%, Italy is 8.3%, Cuba is at 8.6% and Poland is at 9.6%.
It’s pretty clear that in the U.S., since so many people now have college degrees, having one really doesn’t say much about you. But, I always like to view things on a global level. Many things that are taken for granted in the U.S. like a college degree, a good job, economic stability, and an education among other things are still valued very highly by society in places where these things aren’t so common.
Tell an American girl you just graduate with a degree in economics, and she’ll shrug. But tell a Brazilian girl the same thing and she might be a bit impressed. By the same token, there many college graduates that can’t even get a job once they graduate in the U.S. But if you take that degree abroad, it has much more clout and weight with employers.
Although a College education may be scoffed at by some people in the U.S., it’s nothing to be laughed at on a global level. One of the measures of manhood is the ability to set, and achieve goals. Obtaining a degree is by no means an easily obtainable goal, and it does deserve it’s merits. Also, in today’s technology driven society, most of the man’s productivity, is now done on a mental level. We no longer run around the forest killing our food with bows, arrows, and sticks. In today’s world a man’s productivity, and a mans ability to provide the most basic needs of food, shelter, and stability is his ability to earn a living and earn wages. Wages are directly correlated to the level of education.
As with everything else on my website and blog, I don’t just look at things from an American perspective. Many American guys are closed off to the notion that things abroad including society and culture are much different and operate at different levels. What applies in the U.S. doesn’t always apply abroad.
The truth is that in many foreign countries including European ones, a degree, and an education makes you stand out both with employers but also with the opposite sex. Globally the post secondary education rate is 9.1%. If you hold a degree consider yourself among that top 9.1% most educated of the world population, congratulations.

Nice Guys Finish Last But Who Are These Nice Guys?
Posted on November 12th, 2009 1 comment
I run into it all the time… Comments, emails and messages on Internet forums of women, as well as men who state that the only men who would be willing and “desperate” enough to look abroad for love, romance, and dating are the ultimate “loosers”. The most undesirable genetic material that no “empowered” American woman would touch with a ten foot pole. But let’s look at the reality and not the assumptions. The reality is that a great majority of the men who are looking abroad are those nice guys! Yes the guys that are finishing last next to the bad boys. The guys that play the main role in most romantic comedies. These are good, decent looking, successful men, who probably spent too much time educating themselves or involved in their careers, or other things to really learn how to interact with American women.
Most American women undeniably like the bad-boy. And practically all of the attractive ones could give two shits that you’re a lawyer, small business owner, or any career oriented type of man. I wrote a post about why money may becoming more important during the recession, but I still think American women often pick bad boys over money boys.
They’re looking for the guys that give them some excitement, not some boring educated man who spent his whole life saving his money, educating himself and dedicating himself to his profession. How boring is that? Saving? lol, where’s the risk in that? An education? Ohh how “nice”…
The truth is that American women are bypassing great guys, guys who have great careers, stable futures, and good educations. But American women don’t want that… stability is too boring, education is too tame, and nice guys aren’t exciting.
So when I see comments like this on youtube:

I laugh. The haters have no clue.
Just like the smart money is exiting the country right now towards foreign investments, the smart “nice guys” are leaving for foreign women.
As a result of writing my book, “The Global Dating Revolution,” I’ve met, spoken to, and interchanged emails with thousands of men. A majority of the guys I’ve interacted with seem like they’re very well educated, many of them are working for respectable companies, while others are running small business etc. Most of them would be considered successful and very educated. So what’s going on here?
Yes, unfortunately with American women, nice guys finish last. But American women should reconsider who their passing up because the world is getting smaller and nice guys are tired of being “just friends”. Nice guys now have the option to look abroad where women have totally different attitudes towards successful educated men.

Five Things Cuba Is Famous For
Posted on November 11th, 2009 No comments
I’ve wanted to visit Cuba for some time now, but it’s not easy. Hopefully Obama will remove the travel restrictions for American citizens that want to travel to Cuba. The minute they do, I’m heading over! The picture on the left is a picture of the coastal boulevard in La Havana. From all of the pictures I’ve seen I imagine that La Havana, Cuba’s capital, looks a lot like Cartagena, Colombia, maybe a bit more worn down but a very similar architecture. Anyway, for anyone that doesn’t know too much about Cuba, here are five things Cuba is famous for (Havana should be in this list, but I’ll save that for when I actually visit).#1. It’s cigars. Cuban cigars are known worldwide as the best cigars. As the best they are also very expensive. Cuban cigars have been called the forbidden fruit because of their distinctive flavor and aroma. The Cuban government controls all cigar production in Cuba. Cuban cigars are made from tobacco, fillers, and wrappers grown, made, and manufactured in Cuba. Cuban cigars are for the most part hand rolled by master cigar rollers known as torcedores. Torcedores are considered artists in their field and are respected highly in Cuba and around the world. Although Cuban cigars are considered the best in the world they are illegal in the United States.
#2. It’s Fidel. Fidel Castro has been a polarizing figure for decades. He is at the same time loved and hated by many. Fidel Castro came to power in 1959 as a result of the Cuban Revolution against U.S. backed dictator Fulgencio Batista. After the overthrow of Batista in 1959, Castro took charge of the military and soon became the next dictator of Cuba. From 1959 through 1960 Castro began to make sweeping changes throughout Cuba. Castro nationalized all industrial businesses, made agriculture into a collective community, and took control of all American-owned businesses. It was also during this time period that Castro began to cut times with the United States and form an alliance with the Soviet Union. Although Castro denied being a communist, he had effectively transformed Cuba into a communist country.
#3. It’s rum. Cuban rum just as Cuban cigars is among the best in the world. Cuban rum has been called the spice of life with its smooth but strong flavor. As with Cuban cigars, rum is illegal in the United States because of the trade embargo that was enacted in 1962. Cuban rum is made from the sugarcane by-product known as molasses. This process of making rum was brought to Cuba by slaves from Africa. Cuba was the main supplier of rum in the 1700’s and today the most common brand of Cuban rum is Havana Club.
#4. It’s dancing. Cuba is famous for its spicy and sexy Latin dances. Picture in your mind moving passionately across the dance floor as you step in time to the beat of your dance partner’s rhythm. Cuban dances are about passion and immersing yourself into the story of the dance. The word Salsa was created in New York, however the dance originated in Cuba. Salsa combines a mix of the Danzón from the French, the Rhumba from Africa, and the Són of Cuba. The Cha-Cha-Cha also originated in Cuba. The Cha-Cha-Cha is similar to the Mambo and gained fame in the early 1950’s. The Cha-Cha-Cha is more sensual than the Salsa and can be more complex with its many rhythms.
#5. It’s baseball. Baseball is more than just America’s favorite past time. It is one of the most played sports in Cuba with a long and rich history. Baseball was brought to Cuba sometime around 1860 by Cubans who had studied and played along side sailors in the United States. Some of the greatest baseball players in the world are of Cuban Heritage. Cristóbal Torriente, Martín Dihigo, and José Méndez are all in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Cubans have played baseball in just about every nation where baseball exists in the world. Not only have Cubans played abroad but many baseball greats from other countries have gone to Cuba to play as well.

Why Competition Between Foreign Women Breeds Excellence
Posted on November 7th, 2009 No comments
In the study of Economics you will learn that competition within a market will bring about better products at lower prices for the consumer. The basic principal behind this is that competition breeds excellence. It’s true in the business world, it’s true in nature, and it’s also true in our dating environments. The truth about this world is that not all dating environments are created equal. Some regions and countries drastically favor men, while other drastically favor women. There are many economic and cultural forces at play which result in these pro-male and pro-female environments. I detail my research in the first part of my book “The Global Dating Revolution” as to why countries such as Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and United States are pro-female or anti-male regions. Often in my book I distinguish between these two regions by calling them Upper and Lower tiers, based on their economic classification.
If you’re dating just about anywhere in the U.S. you’ll be competing for women but with handicaps. This extreme competition among men will force you to improve yourself or be left out of the race. While there are many men who just can’t hang with the big boys in this rat race, there are plenty of willing competitors and this breeds an army of eligible bachelors in a tough dating environment for men. For any woman in this dating environment practically everything is in their favor. Any attractive girl in this pro-female environment will have everything practically handed to her, and the lack of obstacles for the women causes them to be complacent. Many gain wieght, they don’t take care of themselves, and many of them don’t’ improve themselves because they know or feel that the handicaps are not on them, but on the men. This is the ying, now it’s time to look at the yang.
All you have to do is reverse this scenario when you look at places like Eastern Europe, Latin America and South East Asia. These regions are pro-male regions, and regions of the world where the intense competition is not between the males, but between the females. For this reason foreign women tend to put more time into staying in shape, and into their looks. They put more effort into keeping their men happy, and more effort into flirting and getting a man. While it’s almost impossible to find an very attractive American girl who will act needy towards you, it’s almost commonplace to run into this in these foreign regions where women have to climb “up hill.” The truth is that if you want to find the best dating pools in the world you have to go to places where the women are competing for the men, and these places are South East Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

Five Steps To Learning Latin Dance
Posted on November 5th, 2009 1 comment
If you don’t already know, dancing to Latin music is a lot of fun, and can be very sensual. It’s a great way to express yourself through your body movements and music, and also a great way to get up close and personal with foreign women who love to dance. Most Latin dances involve some form of hand holding and embracing of your dance partner. There are many fun ways to learn different types of Latin dance, and it helps to give each a try in order to maximize your potential. Regardless of the way in which you learn or practice and learn Latin dance, you will always have a stellar time. Going to Latin dance lessons will allow you to practice with real partners and teachers. Watching instructional Latin dance DVDs can give you a chance to learn at your own pace. Going to clubs and experiencing the real dance culture can keep you in touch with the vibrant and exciting nature of Latin dance.
#1. The basics. Loosen up and start slow. Latin music is all about being loose and feeling the rhythm of the music. Don’t try to learn all the dances at once, your going to get confused. Start off with the dance that you like most, and start off with the basic steps. Although Latin America has probably about 10-15 different dances, the three most popular ones internationally are salsa, merengue, and bachata (you can click the links to view sample videos). The popularity of these types of music and dance differ throughout different Latin American regions but if you’re planning on practicing in the United States, Canada, Australia or the U.K. these types are the main ones you will have access to.
#2. Get some Latina female friends. Latin women love to dance. There are very few Latin women who don’t enjoy going out and dancing a night away. It’s a perfect way to setup a weekend date with a Latina and her friends.
#3. Watch youtube videos or DVD training classes. DVD training programs are available all over the Internet. There are also many great free videos on websites like youtube. You can even find free dance class videos on youtube so that you can learn the basics from home at your own pace.
#4. Take dance classes. Dance classes are great places to meet dance partners and learn at the same time. Going to Latin dance lessons will allow you to practice with real partners and teachers. At the same time, as the classes progress you will make friends and often time, you can arrange for group outings to go out and practice.
#5. Go out to Latin nights and get practice. If you don’t practice you will soon forget everything you learned. Once you get a dance down, make sure you take the time to practice once a week or once every other week for an extended period of time.
One important thing to remember is that if you’re NOT Latino, you’re really not expected to know how to dance Latin music. Very few American men learn how to dance this music, so women will be pleasantly surprised to find out that you just know the basics, let alone anything more then the basics. My point is that you don’t have to dance like the best guy in the club. Even the most basic steps will impress the ladies simply because you’re a “gringo” that took the time to learn how to dance this music, and because there are so many other “gringos” that wouldn’t have a clue how to.

Why American Men Should Be Worried About Inflation And The Dollar
Posted on November 3rd, 2009 No comments
It’s no secret the United States has experienced the worst recession since the great depression, but the real question is: Is the government perusing the right policies that will lead to an eventual recovery? Why is this important for all American men? Because one of the possible and likely outcomes of the current spend and bailout policy is that it will lead to very high inflation in the dollar, and possibly hyper inflation as a worse case scenario. Why should American men interested in international dating, travel, and meeting foreign women be worried about Inflation? Because inflation erodes the value of your dollars. The higher the amount of inflation the more expensive everything will get, including your current day to day expenses for food and energy as well as increased expenses to travel. Not only will airline tickets get more expensive, when you travel abroad, as other currencies appreciate against the dollar, traveling to places like Latin America won’t feel like such a bargain.
Brazil is a perfect example. Just seven years ago you could get $4 Brazilian Reals for just $1 U.S. dollar. As recently as 2007 the dollars decline against the Real to hit $2 Reals for $1 U.S. dollar. More recently the real hit a new recent high of $1.7 Reals for $1 us dollar.
The same effect has been seen in Canada. Seven or so years ago, one dollar could get you almost two Canadian loonies. At the time, Americans were crossing the boarder to vacation in Canada in large numbers because of the great bargains due to the currency exchange rate. From an American’s perspective, everything in Canada was practically half-off.
But all of these trends have been drastically reversed.
Many of the economists that correctly predicted this current recession like Marc Faber, Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, and Gerald Celente, to name a few, all agree on one thing: Current government policy is leading us in the wrong direction.
The main problem with U.S. economy is that the low interest rates that have been offered by the FED practically this entire decade have made it unattractive to save. American’s have spent too much, and the people as well as the government have both incurred too much debt. The spending and borrowing which created the housing bubble was fueled by the easy money, and easy credit through credit cards and home equity loans, and low interest rates from the FED. Now that the party is over, the government is trying to spend even more money, bailing out everyone, and increasing the deficits to levels that are unheard of.
How will we ever pay this money back? 30 years ago the U.S. was the largest creditor nation, today the U.S. is largest debtor nation the world has ever seen. In the past foreigners would gladly lend us the money, but now they’re having their doubts. China, our biggest creditor is no longer interested in funding our out of control government spending, and other countries are following suite. Nations have raised there concerns about this problem by proposing oil be traded in other currencies (oil is currently traded in dollars), and even suggesting the dollar be taken off as the world’s reserve currency.
If we’re unable to borrow money from the rest of the world, the only option left is to print the difference, and reek havoc on the dollar, yet government keeps getting larger, and current government policy is to spend more money and try to stimulate more spending from the American people.
If the dollar continues to devalue, and if government policy is not reversed, it may very well get very very expensive to travel. Not just abroad, but just imagine a $1,000 or $2,000 dollar flight from New York to Miami. Imagine hotels abroad coasting just as much, or more then hotels at any large U.S. city. A strong dollar benefits every American, not just those who travel, but American men who enjoy the benefits of a decently strong dollar today should be worried about the current inflationary policies of the U.S. government.
In my next blog post I’ll be discussing what you can do to guard your assets against the inflationary policies of the U.S. government, and what you can do to help change the course of the U.S. government.

Ten Ways To Avoid Stomach Problems And Diarrhea When Traveling
Posted on November 2nd, 2009 No comments
When you’re traveling abroad if your not careful you could end up with stomach problems, travelers diarrhea, a stomach virus or worse. In order to avoid these common problem it’s important to know where to eat, what to eat, and what to drink. Here are the best tips you’ll find so you can keep your stomach safe and enjoy your trip without running into stomach problems:#1. Eat at places that have a lot of clientele. Always eat at the busiest restaurant or place you can find. A busy restaurant is a good sign of good food and satisfied clients. The fact that other people are eating there in great numbers says something great about the food, and service. But there’s more to this approach then just this. A busy restaurant also means that the food is fresh. Busy places are making money, and they don’t need to save yesterday’s unsold food for tomorrows clients, as some of the emptier places may do. Always eat at the busiest locale, and if the place is empty definitely avoid it.
#2. Make sure your food is cooked properly. Get everything well done. You might like your steak rare, but why take the chance? Make sure you get all your meats cooked well. Try avoiding uncooked foods. Extra caution should be taken with shellfish and some sea foods.
#3. Wash your hands. Make sure you wash your hands every time before you eat. It might be a good idea for you to carry around a small pocket size hand sanitizer and keep it in your pocket.
#4. Don’t eat already peeled fruits and vegetables. This one is self explanatory.
#5. Drink bottled water, and don’t drink tap water. In some countries you can drink the tap water, but make sure you boil it before you drink it.
#6. Watch out for the ice. Ice is usually made from the tap water so if you want a cold drink put your drink on ice, but don’t put ice in your drink.
#7. Don’t eat at street vendors and food carts. I generally advise not to eat at vendors who stand out in the middle of the streets. Sometimes you might be starving after a night out and you might want to try some shish kabobs from a local vendor, I’ve done this myself, but I make sure I don’t do it often, and that I get my food very well done. Also remember tip #1. If you’re going to eat at one of these street vendors, eat the busiest one.
#8. If it tastes funny, don’t eat it. When your traveling food will taste different, but sometimes there’s something your taste buds tell you about the food. When in doubt listen to your gut. If it tastes too funny, trust your gut and don’t eat it. If you want to be nice about it, just tell the staff to wrap it up to go, and dump the food when you leave.
#9. Boost your immune system. Make sure your helping your immune system by taking a multi-vitamin, vitamin E, vitamin C, and Zinc. Regular exercise and adequate sleep also helps boost your immune system.
#10. Avoid eating when drunk. If you’ve had a lot to drink try to avoid eating. When you’re drunk sometimes you might not care where you eat, or what you eat, you’ll probably also forget tips 1-9 and you might not even be able to tell if the food is good or not. This is a sure fire way to stumble your way into some food that can get you sick.
