International Dating with Foreign Women – All Hype Or The Real Deal?
Posted on March 10th, 2010 No comments
Anyone who doesn’t really read and understand my material might get offended by some of my points of view on American women, and some of the things I say on my blog and in my books, for example my stance on obesity. Others who don’t take the time to understand my material will think I’m exaggerating, or making all of this up, for example why foreign women are a better option. Aside from the haters, most guys agree with me and appreciate the information I share in my books and blog. Most men who travel, have been abroad or have dated a foreign woman, agree 100% with my philosophy, my material and my approach to dating. I can say without a doubt that I’ve helped hundreds of men open their eyes to international dating, and they all thank me for it.The core of my approach to women is to focus on the environment. Everything else is secondary. If dating attractive, feminine women who will appreciate you, be attentive to your needs and who will treat you like a king is your priority, then it’s best to put yourself in an environment where all your efforts will give you the highest return on investment. It’s all about ROI. Do you want to work twice, three times or ten times as hard to achieve this result? You wouldn’t want to work twice as hard to earn the same salary, why would you want to take this approach to one of the most important aspects of your life as a man?
There are many reasons why dating environments and male-female dynamics differ from country to country and region to region in the world. In the first part of my book The Global Dating Revolution, I explain all of these reasons, I lay out my case with concrete examples, real world statistics, case studies, and hard core facts. After reading the first part of my book you will understand the three basic causes of environmental differences. I’ll list all three along with one example of each and how it could effect your dating environment.
Demographic Differences:
One example of a demographic difference is the ratio of men to women in a country or region. Certain parts of the world simply have better ratios for men. Other parts of the world have better demographics for women. It’s a known fact that countries like the Ukraine and Russia have a shortage of men which means the women in those countries have a much tougher time in the dating game. Here is quote taken from the library of congress:“Most of the demographic disasters that have beset Russia in the twentieth century have affected primarily males. In 1992 the sex ratio was 884 males per 1,000 females; in the years between 1994 and 2005, the imbalance is projected to increase slightly to a ratio of 875 males per 1,000 females (see table 7, Appendix). Gender disparity has increased because of a sharp drop in life expectancy for Russian males, from sixty-five years in 1987 to fifty-seven in 1994.”
Apart from ratios there are other demographic differences which can greatly effect your dating environment. This is just one example but when you add up two, three or four demographic advantages available in some regions, you can start to imagine the great benefit in being somewhere where the demographics are in your favor and not against you.
Cultural Differences:
There are many cultural differences that will effect the way women react towards men and treat men in certain cultures. The single most important difference in culture between countries like the United States and regions of the world which I feel offer the best dating environments is feminism. Feminism in many western countries has taught women to become more masculine, combative, and less feminine. However, this movement hasn’t really taken hold in places like Latin America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia. In these regions of the world women are still the feminine creatures they were meant to be. They won’t hide their emotions, they won’t feel weak for cultivating or expressing their femininity. In the United States however, many women feel being feminine is a sign of weakness. Most men who have date foreign women from the regions I recommend, have expressed the same views, and prefer feminine foreign women, as opposed to masculine American women.Socio-Economic Differences:
Another great force that is often overlooked but effects certain dating environments greatly are the socio-economic forces. One great example of this is immigration. There are a great deal of people that don’t really appreciate how much immigration can effect the dating environments of the two regions effected by the immigration. Lets take a look at one specific region: The Americas. During the past 50 or so years we’ve seen massive amounts of immigration from Latin America to North America, not to mention the immigration of people from other parts of the world to United States. Millions upon millions of migrants have moved to North America. The fact is that men outnumber women in this migration by a factor of 2 to 1 maybe even 3 to 1. The biggest differences are in the illegal migration of men, which is almost entirely made up of men and is harder to account for and work into these statistics. This isn’t something that is isolated to the United States. Europe has seen a flood of male migrants from Eastern European countries such as Turkey, as well as from Northern Europe and Latin America. But, you might be asking what does this have to do with the dating environment?
If millions of young men move into your back yard, that means more competition for you. But back in the regions where these men are coming from, you’ll find all of the women that were left behind, who are now single, and who probably have a tougher time dating men because many of the men who would have been prime candidates in their age range, have gone abroad in search of work.
Bottom Line:
The bottom line is that when you take into account all of these environment differences in different dating environments around the world, you can get a broad picture of the whether the environment is favorable to the men or favorable to the women. When it’s boiled down to it’s simplest form, my approach to dating looks something like this:
Let’s say there are two night clubs in town. Both night clubs have the same crowds every night.
Club “A” always has 100 guys and 50 women. In this club the ratios are in favor of the women and obviously the odds are against you.
Club “B” is a bit far, but even though it takes longer to drive there, this club always has 100 women, and 50 guys inside.
Each club has a different environment, club A favors the women overall, and club B favors the men. All other things being equal, any guy in his right mind would want to be in club B. There may be a small amount of hyper-competitive men who like the lesser odds and the competition in club A, but for the most part, most men will prefer to be in club B where there are 2 women for every man.
My approach to dating is to find the club B’s of this world. In other words, find the best places for men around the world. These are places where the environment puts the dating game in their favor, and these are places where dating, relationships and romance stop being so difficult and become more natural, and easy (at least from man’s point of view).
Through my book “The Global Dating Revolution” I explain why these best places are Latin America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia. I explain in full detail the obstacles and pitfalls that many uninformed men run into and I also guide you step by step through the world of International Dating and cross cultural romance.
Other Factors:
Apart from all of the examples listed above, being a foreigner in a foreign land gives you a heads up against the local men, and a great appeal amongst the women, for many reasons as well. There are many other factors at play here, too many to list in one post but let’s just say that when you add everything up, the sum is often greater then the parts, and meeting and dating women abroad is the real deal. -
To Russia For Love: Mail Order Brides
Posted on March 5th, 2010 3 commentsThe following is a great documentary about Russian women, and the mail order bride movement in Russia. Much of the same cultural, demographic, and environmental undertones that create such a great dating environment for men in Russia also apply to South East Asia and Latin America. I discuss all of these environmental differences in my book “The Global Dating Revolution.” Much of what you’ll see in the video should go hand in hand with much of the material I teach in my book and through my websites. Nick Vivion, creator of the film recently had this to say about mail order brides and the small documentary he created:
I went to Russia in 2006 to do a story on mail order brides, called “To Russia For Love.” It was fascinating to hear the reasons these women had for seeking foreign men. Primarily it had to do with the traditional values – the woman was the homemaker and the male was the breadwinner. I couldn’t believe that so many women were seeking this out – it seemed that feminism had barely made a dent in Russia… and having seen a couple of Russian men beat their wives on the streets (and the fact that so many Russian men have died in wars, making the ratio of women to men much higher – and therefore men harder to get), I can understand why women look outside of Russia for love!

Taking The Bus In Barranquilla Vs Taking The Bus In New York
Posted on February 19th, 2010 No commentsI was on my way to a mall to do some grocery shopping. I was dressed casual, nothing fancy. A blue hat, a white t-shirt, some blue jeans and my comfy sneakers. Most of the time I would have taken a taxi, but this time I decided to take the bus for kicks. Sometimes taking the bus can be a great way to meet women.
I knew where the bus stop was, a few blocks over. As I got closer I noticed a very nice looking woman who was dressed like she had just gotten out of work from the office. She was looking very professional yet attractive. I sort of knew what bus to take, and what to do, but I decided to ask her for help just to see if I could start a conversation.
I asked her if this was where I can take the bus, and she said told me that it was. I made a comment that I didn’t know the bus routes yet, so I had to ask around all the time, I said this with a smile. She asked where I’m from? And I told her I was from the U.S. and that I was just visiting. I asked her if she was from Barranquilla and she mentioned that she wasn’t. She was from a city about 3 hours away, but she was living there because of work and University.
At this point we had only talked for about 30 seconds and bus came. I let her get in first and she sat down at on the first seats. I got on and paid my bus fair and then sat across the isle, but right next to her. After I sat down she got up, and paid her fair, and then sat down in the isle behind me. I was about to put my right arm back and over the chair so I could turn and still engage her in conversation, but before I could move, she asked me to come sit next to her. This was a surprise. I’ve spoken with women in New York and New Jersey on the bus before, I’ve never had a woman ask me to come sit next to her.
I take a seat next to her and we chat some more for about 2 minutes before we get to our final destination. It turns out we were both going to the mall. She was going to meet a friend to talk about a job opportunity and I was going to do my grocery shopping. When I mentioned the grocery shopping she mentioned that if I wanted one day she would come help me do some shopping because she knew where to get the best prices. Again, another surprise: An attractive young professional, educated woman offering to help me with my groceries only minutes after meeting me. I thanked her and told her I’d take her up on her offer. We exchanged a few more sentences and then she invited me over for lunch the next day at her apartment. She asked me if I had a phone, and of course I do, so she asked me to take down her number and call her the next morning so we can arrange a time for lunch.
I use to work in New York, and I use to take the bus into the city from various places in New Jersey, and back to New Jersey from New York. I struck up conversations with many women on the bus, at the port authority, and bus stops, but in my five plus years working in the city and taking the bus to work, I never had an interaction that flowed as easily, and effortlessly as this one.
This is just one of many examples of what the women are like in foreign countries. YES I know not every interaction will be this positive or flow this effortlessly, but it just goes to show you what’s possible with international dating and foreign women. Even if just 2 out of every 10 interactions flow like this in Colombia, back in New Jersey/New York, it’s never this easy, effortless, and fun!

Why Do These Girls Get So Dressed Up For The Airport?
Posted on January 2nd, 2010 No comments“Why do these girls get so dressed up for the airport?” That’s what the two American girls behind me were saying about the Latin women who were also waiting on the check in line for our flight to miami. There was a stark difference between the two. The American girls looked like they just hoped out of bed. They both had baggy sweats and baggy sweaters on. Their hair was a mess and they honestly couldn’t care less.
It was a 6:40 am flight and I can understand that maybe they didn’t bother because the flight was so early, but from their attitude I wouldn’t be surprised if they would show like that for a 4:00 PM flight. Even though it was an early flight, the Latin women on the line found the time to “dress up”.
On the flip side, the Latin women were all very presentable and some were even very dressed up. I wouldn’t expect less. An “Americanized” Latin girl may step out in public in her sweats and baggy shirt, with her hair all over the place, but a real Latin woman wouldn’t dream of leaving her house if she doesn’t fix helself up a bit.
It’s part of the Latin American culture. In Latin America there is much more competition among females. I explain in full detail why this is the case in my book, “The Global Dating Revolution“, but I also touched on the subject in a post I made about American Vs Latin women in Miami.
American women “slack off” because they can. But foreign women never let their guard down in this aspect. Even though foreign women may not have as much income to give themselves a Jenny Jones makeover, they do their best with the tools they have to always look their best and always try to draw the attention of men as well as the women they feel they’re competing with. If you doubt my point of view, you can read an article from an American girl who agrees with me, its called It’s not easy being a white girl in Miami.

Do the World’s Most Beautiful Women Live in Venezuela?
Posted on October 28th, 2009 3 comments
Life.com recently released an article titled “Venezuela’s Most Beautiful Women“. It’s a series of pictures of current and past pageant contestants and winners.Miss Venezuela (Dayana Mendoza featured in the picture) most recently won the title of Miss Universe for 2009, bringing the grand total of Venezuela wins to a whooping 6.
Having been to Venezuela myself, I have to agree that Venezuelan women are amazingly attractive. An afternoon stroll down one of the busy avenues in the center of the city leaves you with more then eyeful of slender, attractive “chamas” (Venezuelan slang for chica or girl).
Night clubs and in Caracas are no different, and my Venezuelan female friends have confessed to me in the past over some drinks that they have to fight tooth and nail for their men against all the other single ladies.
If it wasn’t for the reports of violence and increased crime in Venezuela I probably would have gone back already. I may have to go and verify the reports for myself. But there are many other places including Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Costa Rica where the women are just as friendly and attractive, and crime isn’t as much of an issue.
Although there are many pretty women in Venezuela I would say that it’s definitely not a place you want to venture into unless you’re a Veteran traveler, fluent in Spanish, and are a bit more risk averse.
The one negative about Venezuela at the moment, is that the mismanagement of the Economy by President Hugo Chavez, has resulted in high inflation, increasingly difficult times economically, and shortages of basic necessities like water, and electricity. Rolling black outs are common place, and Chavez recently urged all Venezuelans to take 3 minute showers to conserve water.
In part due to these reasons, crime and violence has increased dramatically in Venezuela over the past decade, most notably in the city of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. Although there are no outright “travel warnings” for Venezuela on the government websites, Venezuela and Caracas still remain high up on the list of crime and homicide rates.
Still having said all of this, I’m reminded of my European friend who told me a story about a team of engineers from his company in Spain who were sent to Venezuela for a six month stint. Out of the team of 11 engineers 7 of them came back from Venezuela married. And no that is not an exaggeration.

Why Are Brazilian Women So Hot?
Posted on April 16th, 2009 44 commentsWhy Are Brazilian Women So Hot?

It’s common knowledge among men the world over, that Brazilian women rank among the hottest on the planet.
But the REAL question is WHY?
How To Make A Country Full Of Hot Babes In Only Two Centuries: A Short History of Hotness in Brazil

Brazil’s history is just as exciting as it’s current affairs, filled with ups, downs, and conflicts that could compete with any box office action thriller. The Portuguese were the first European settlers to arrive in the area, led by adventurous Pedro Cabral, who began the colonial period in 1500. Little did Pedro know he was planting the seeds of future hotness that would become the famous the world over.
Unlike the colonizing philosophy of the Spanish, the Portuguese in Brazil were much less focused at first on conquering, controlling, and developing the country. Most were impoverished sailors, who were far more interested in profitable trade and subsistence agriculture than in territorial expansion.
Nonetheless, sugar soon came to Brazil, and with it came imported slaves. To a degree unequaled in most of the American colonies, the Portuguese settlers frequently intermarried with both the Indians and the African slaves, and there were also mixed marriages between the Africans and Indians. This interracial mixing of three very distinct genetic pools, would no doubt have an impact on the future hotness of Brazilian women.

As a result, Brazil’s population is a population of mixed babies, who through some miracle have managed to discover the perfect cocktail of the best genes available to man.
Most Brazilians possess some combination of European, African, Amerindian, Asian, and Middle Eastern lineage, and this multiplicity of cultural legacies is a notable feature of current Brazilian culture, and an EXTRA notable feature of the sexy bunda packin babes you’ll see all over Brazil…
These are facts.
Let’s get back to our history lesson… Portugal so treasured the colony of Brazil that they actually sent its people gold bullion to protect its integrity — quite an unusual action. It’s almost as if Portugal knew Brazil had something special in it, something that made it a South American treasure worth protecting and keeping pure.
In other words, they must have known the place was more or less dripping with smoking hot babes. There’s no other explanation. The Portuguese made some half-assed attempts to colonize parts of America, Canada and other South American areas, but Brazil was their baby — their hot, bikini-clad, long legged baby whom they would cut off several fingers to have sex with.

Brazil’s #1 Export:
Supermodels.
I realize, of course, that this article seeks to explain why Brazilian women are so hot, but — as many philosophers and Douglas Adams have stated — often the only reasonable answer to “why” is “why not?” There are so goddamned many gorgeous Brazilian women that it just seems to be a stone-set fact of life that Brazil manufactures beautiful women as a matter of course. For Chrissakes, one country produced all the following women:
Alessandra Ambrosio

Adriana Lima

Isabeli Fontana

Izabel Goulart

Ana Beatriz Barros

Gisele Bundchen

and Juliana Martins

A Booming Economy
Brazil has the highest GDP in all of Latin America, with significant agricultural and manufacturing sectors and an enormous labor pool. It makes some sense, perhaps, that with their economy going so well, Brazilian citizens are generally less panicked and take the time to care for themselves. It’s easier to eat right, exercise and use skin care products when your country isn’t quadrillions of dollars in debt — lord knows we are, and our hottest chick from a decade ago now looks like this:

Coincidence? I don’t think so.
Weapons of Mass Seduction

Come to think of it, there’s something rather sinister about how many hotties come from Brazil. The surplus hotness Brazil exports on a daily basis could feed the homeless for a decade, if spent properly. It’s almost as if Brazil is trying to corner the global market on attractive women — as if they want a monopoly on sexy.I am of the opinion that Brazil actually wishes to wage war on the civilized countries of the world by flaunting their women in our faces — their supermodels act as the greatest combination defense and offense in the history of warfare.
Sure, the US could nuke them into oblivion with our massive super weapon stockpile, but we’d literally be killing the most beautiful women on the planet. Similarly, we might have a more stable government with (arguably) more personal freedoms, but hell; Brazil’s got the hottest women! On paper, our lives may be slightly better, but the Brazilian life is more WORTH living simply because the sex is BETTER, and more plentiful. Brazil knows that, outside of disturbing eugenic experiments, there’s no real way for the rest of the world to combat their legions of hotties.
Brazilians fight their wars not with bombs, but with bundas, bikinis, and bosoms. And they are DEFINITELY winning.
The Brazilian Wax & The Brazilian Thong

Is it any wonder that the two most famous things to come out of Brazil are the “Brazilian Wax” and the “Brazilian Thong”. Need I say more? Their minds must be on sex all the time, which leads to vaginal waxing, and hot babes prancing around the beach in skimpy thongs, which leads to better sex with better looking women, which leads to better looking kids, which leads to more and more sex… I know what you’re thinking… It’s a VICIOUS cycle I know we all WISH we could be a part of.
God bless Brazil,

Foreign Women Only Want Your Money
Posted on April 16th, 2009 1 commentOverview:
There are many ways to dubunk the myth that foreign women only treat you well for your money or to get ticket out the country. While gold-diggers and scammers do exist, they are in a very tiny minority. Foreign women don’t reserve this special treatment, just for you. They treat their local men, just as good as they will treat you. So it’s not just about the money as you will soon find out.Watch The Video:
Read The Article:
One of the biggest myths out there about foreign women is that they’re all looking for a ticket out of their country, and they all want your money and a green card. There are many ways to disprove this point of view but today I want to focus on just one of those ways.First of all, I’d like to say that there are gold diggers out there and there are women who may be looking for a ticket out. So, I would suggest getting to know the person as thoroughly as possible and getting my book “The Global Dating Revolution”, which will give you everything you need to know so that you don’t get snagged by a scammer. But the reality is that scammers are everywhere these days, and it’s a fact of life no matter where you go or what you do.
The good news is that scammers make a very small percentage of foreign women, and most foreign women are nice, decent girls who just want to find the right guy.
By now you must know that one of my biggest points is that foreign women are they way they are because of the environment they live in. It’s an environment that totally favors men, whereas the environment YOU live in favors women. When you go into a foreign girls home turf, you enter a complete role reversal from what you are use to where you live back at home. Back at home, you’ve always had to fight for the girl and fight to keep her, and it’s always been an uphill battle. You may never have noticed this, because you’ve never lived in a place like the Philippines, or Colombia, so you never had a point of reference. Now, if you’ve already traveled you’ve probably started to notice this role reversal on your travels, and you might have an idea of what I’m talking about.
So, what I want to do, is challenge you right now. I want you to go out into your neighborhood, or find someone in your job or in your social circle who is from one of these regions. I want you to find someone who basically grew up and has lived in Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Philippines, Thailand, Ukraine, Russia, or any of the other countries located in those regions. And what I want you to do is talk to that person and ask them how the dating scene is back in their homeland. Maybe take them out for a beer and if it’s a guy, ask the dude, so how are the women back in your country?
I can put money, a lot of money that if you talk to a guy from another country, the guy will probably confirm that back in his country, the women are more attractive, friendlier and more accessible. And you can talk to any Colombian guy, Brazilian guy, Filipino guy, Russian guy, they will say the same thing. When it comes to women, you can’t beat their homeland.
But here is the funny thing. If you happen to meet a woman from these regions and you ask them the same thing. Most of these women will have an opposite view. They find that they like the dating scene, and the men of here a lot more then back at home.
Don’t take my word for it. Do some research of your own. Talk to people that have traveled extensively, people that are from the regions that I describe in my material, and find out for your self.
So what’s my point in all of this? What I want to show you is that any man that comes from let’s say Costa Rica, will tell you that when he was in Costa Rica, he had a great time with women. He was in control. If he wanted flings, he had them. If he wanted something long term he had that too. Same goes for guys in Brazil and guys in Argentina, etc. Even better, when you travel, talk to some of the local Brazilian guys who still live down there, and they will confirm the same sentiment.
So my point is that all of the men down there have a great life, as far as women are concerned. This is all due to the fact that they happen to live in a place that offers them great advantages over the opposite sex. So if all of the Brazilian guys are doing great with women, and you step into the mix in Brazil, why wouldn’t you do good? If a regular Brazilian guy has success down there? Then why does everyone, attribute your success to gold digging? Aren’t you a man also?
My point is that all of the men down there enjoy these environmental advantages and the main reason that foreign women will be more open and friendly to you is because when you step into that environment, you automatically enjoy the same advantages that all of the other Latin American, Eastern European, and South East Asian men share.
Now the icing on the cake, is that as a man who speaks English, and traveling from an economically advanced nation, you will enjoy a positive perception from the women because of your culture, your native language, and where your coming from. This is just the added bonus, on top of the other advantages you will already have in your favor.

American Women Vs Foreign Women
Posted on April 16th, 2009 9 commentsOVERVIEW:
Over the years, through traveling and interaction with foreign women I’ve realized that there are many differences in the way they act, think, and carry themselves. Foreign women aren’t as guarded, they’re more friendly for the most part, are more prone to be family oriented. In this article and video I list some of the differences I’ve noticed about foreign women.WATCH THE VIDEO:
READ THE ARTICE:
Is there really a difference between the women of most advanced and economically developed nations (Australia, U.S, Canada, Western Europe – I’ll refer to all of these women as “American women” for the sake of clarity within this article) and those of the developing nations (Latin America, Eastern Europe, South East Asia – I’ll refer to all of these women as “foreign women” throughout this article)? I firmly believe, as many other men do, that there are some deep rooted differences. In many respects these foreign women are giving American women a run for their money. Many men are flocking to marriage agencies, international dating sites, and embarking on trips to foreign lands in search of romance with these foreign women. Marriage between foreign women and American men is at an all time high, and growing each year.
So what makes these foreign women so different from American women?
#1. Foreign women tend to have more traditional, old fashioned values. The type of values that many American women had back in the early and mid 1900’s. In many ways, these old fashioned values have been lost with American women. Much of this is due to the women’s liberation movement. Although this movement brought about many positive changes for women, it also sacrificed many of the old fashioned, family oriented, values and placed women’s primary focus not on the family, but on their career. Foreign women tend to put their family first, before anything else, even their careers. In a sense many of these foreign women are not unlike the grand mothers and great grand mothers of the current generation of American women.
#2. Foreign women tend to stay in shape much more then American women. There is no doubt that the wealthiest countries are suffering from an obesity epidemic. Many studies have shown that women more prone to gain weight then men. In the United States for example, women are more more prone to be obese even at young ages. This is not only a health issue, but it robes these women of their feminine curves. Foreign women don’t have this problem. They maintain their feminine curves even into their 30’s and 40’s.
#3. Foreign women treat men better then American women. One small example is the fact that many foreign women love to cook for their man. It’s not uncommon to find women that love to cook not only for their partner, but for their entire family. Foreign women don’t see these types of acts as burdens, or forms of submissiveness. On the contrary, they see these types of acts as privileges, and it solidifies their roles within the relationship (and family) as a nurturing and caring figure.
#4. Foreign women are less materialistic. Foreign women who have grown up in less developed countries not fallen prey to the consumer-driven mindset many American women (and men) have been indoctrinated into. They’ve learned to get by on much less. They’ve probably sacrificed material things throughout their life, and they’ve learned to cherish and care for the things that really matter. In this way, foreign women are much easier to please when it comes to materiel wealth. On the other hand, many men find it hard to please American women who have become accustomed to a certain level of material wealth.
#5. Foreign women love North American, and Western European men. Just as foreign women treat men better then American women. American men treat foreign women better then their local men. Many of these foreign women have to deal with men who don’t appreciate them, cheat on them, and an environment that favors men in many ways. American men are a much welcomed change for foreign women, because they treat them better on many levels. It this sense it’s a match made in heaven because both parties treat each other better then what they are accustomed to.
#6. Foreign women are more open to dating older men. It’s not that uncommon for foreign women to date much older men within their own culture. My mother was 10 years younger then my father. I’ve known foreign couples where the man was 20 years older then woman. The popular Mexican artist wrote a song title “40 and 20″ (40 y 20 by Jose Jose). It was a love song about a 40 year old man who was dating a 20 year old woman, you can find it on youtube.
With the advent of the Internet, it’s getting much easier for American men to meet and correspond with foreign women. Foreign women have never been more accessible then they are today and for many American men, like myself, they have become the better option. This is not to say there aren’t women in the United States or Western Europe who have all of these qualities. There are many good, old fashioned women, who take care of themselves here as well, but I’ve found that all of the these women are already committed and taken.
So there you have it. Let me know what you think, I welcome all comments and feedback.
Regards,

How Brazilian Women View Foreigners
Posted on April 16th, 2009 No commentsI’ve made a lot of female friends online over the past few years. I recently had an interesting conversation with a friend I met not too long ago.
My friend is from São Paulo and I asked her a lot of questions, in a sort of friendly interview. She told me about her impressions of foreigners, and gave me some tips I think many of you will find useful. Here goes…
Question #1. Where are you from in Brazil and what do you do?
I am from São Paulo and work with events, developing new business and driving more Brazilian attendance to international exhibitions, organizing delegations of executives from different sectors
Question #2. What are the main obstacles for foreigners in Brazil?
First the language, because different from what many people believe not every Brazilian speaks English and if the purpose of the trip is tourism or especially business it is important to have someone speaking Portuguese for intermediate conversations and to translate different things. Brazilians are very friendly and always try to understand but it helps a lot having someone in the group that speaks the language.
Question #3. What are common mistakes that foreigners make in Brazil?
Being overly concerned with safety issues and not researching about the country and its culture before traveling. Every country has problems with safety, specially the major cities in the world like New York, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil and every tourist needs to be careful with some things. But it does not mean a tourist cannot walk around or cannot use the metro and public transportation. From my experience because I receive many foreigners coming for business they always leave the country very surprised about everything: food, hotels, quality of service, people and even safety.
My advice would be to research about the country and cities you are going to visit and come open minded to a different culture and try new things e.g. food. For example if an American comes to Brazil and only wants to eat at American restaurants he will have this option, but why not try and enjoy the differences from home.
Another mistake is to come to Brazil and only think about
Rio de Janeiro, Rio is beautiful but there is so much to see including amazing beaches in places like Fernando de Noronha, Fortaleza, Salvador, Iguassu falls, Amazonia to see the rainforest or Pantanal. If a foreigner comes 5 times to Brazil he won’t be able to see all.Question #4. What characteristic of other nationalities strikes you as the most different (eg. sense of humor, formality, dress)?
In South Africa people are always smiling and have a great
sense of humor.Question #5. Which English accent do you prefer and why (eg. Scottish, American, Australian)?
I prefer American, probably because I learned English living in the USA with an American family during an exchange program. It sounds more familiar to me.
Question #6. Favourite place travelled abroad and why?
South Africa was my favorite trip because of the mix: very
friendly people, great service, beautiful views specially in Cape Town and the safari something I always wanted to do. I felt at home in South Africa.Question #7. Favourite foreign food?
Italian and Japanese food.
Question #8. Favourite foreign band, book and movie?
I like Shania Twain and Bon Jovi, favorite book Harry Potter and movie The Lord of the Rings.
Question #9. What is the difference between dating a Brazilian and Foreigner (if this applies to you or perhaps a friend)?
I never dated a foreigner but I guess Brazilians are closer to their family, considering that we don’t leave the house of our parents usually until we get married and we are always together doing family trips, lunches and dinners and foreigners are more independent of the family because leave the house with 17 years old to go to college in a different city.
Question #10. Can you share an incident, misunderstanding or ‘culture shock’ that you have experienced with a foreigner?
I guess I can call a culture shock when I lived in the USA as an exchange student and could see how difficult it was to make friends. I guess in Brazil when we have someone from another country we want to help, and instantly become friends, we are really open to that and in the USA it took a while to “break the ice” because Americans don’t instantly become friends, but once they do is about the same in Brazil.
Another shock for me while a student was to hear some questions about my country, such as: Do you have McDonald’s there? Do you have ice cream? Do you live in trees? Does it rain there? That was a shock for me to know that many people didn’t have an idea of what Brazil was.
And as a professional working with Americans to understand
that they are very brief and objective about everything and we are not. I had to deal with these cultural differences when sending e-mails and when traveling also.Question #11.
