2010 is coming to a close and it’s been a great year for International Dating… I see a lot more guys coming on board including some main streem dating gurus. Theres a still a lot of backlash from some men, but mostly from women. I don’t think International Dating will ever be 100% accepted by everyone. But as more and more guys start looking abroad, it will become more and more acceptable.

I remember when I first started writing my book it was very hard to find people addressing issues such as obesity, but now a lot of main streem bloggers are joining the fight against lazy women who don’t take care of themselves.

When I started there was already a good amount of men complaining about feminism. But that number has now risen exponentially with many well read bloggers and gurus addressing the fact that men have lost their masculinity and women here and in countries like the U.S. have gained masculinity.

I don’t feel so alone now when confronting these and other issues… And I feel like other men are starting to wake up and realize that what I’ve been saying has been right on the money.

On the other hand the recession has really hurt men’s ability to travel. There’s a lot of guys that would travel today, if they had the money, and were more financially stable. And it’s not just Americans. The crisis has hit most of Europe and pretty everyone around the world is feeling the pinch. The global slowdown means a slow down in global dating as well, because the center piece of international dating is the ability to travel.

It’s possible to date foreign women locally, but traveling is by far the best option. It’s one thing to chat with someon online, but to really make this happen you have to cross some boarders, and that means getting on a plane, traveling, and spending some money on hotels and other travel expenses.

Hopefully you guys are rolling up your sleeves and working hard to save money to travel. That’s what I’ve been doing…

FYI, my top two favorite countries are Colombia and Brazil… If these were stocks, they’d be my favorite picks for 2011 and beyond.

If I told you that the manliest girl I met in Colomba as a Colombian/American girl, would you beleive me? Earlier this year I spent 6 months in Colombia and during that entire trip one girl really stands out in my memory…

My home base in Colombia was Barranquilla, and I often took trips to Cartagena for a week or weekend. Sometimes I would go with friends, sometimes I would meet friends in Cartagena. I was about 4 months into my trip and 3 months into my coastal stay. I had already spent tons of time out in bars, clubs, malls, beaches, not to mention Carnavales and most of women I’d seen were average Colombian women. Colombian women in general can range from attractive to smoking hot. But it’s not just their looks. Colombian women, like many other women from all over Latin America take extra time to fix themselves up, even if they’re on a tight budget. If I had to draw an example I would say it’s the equivalent of how guys in the U.S. who spend all their money on their cars. They might still live at home with their parents, or live in a crappy apartment, not pay their bills, but they’re driving around in nice cars with 20 inch chrome rims. Those of you who go to Colombia will probably notice that you’ll find a lot more women attractive, and thats one of the reasons, because the women like to dress up and take care of their looks.

So I was out on one of the Main strips in Cartagena doing some window shopping with my friend. She was going to buy a bikini to go to the beach the next morning, and were hoping from shop to shop. We ended up going into this one shop where two girls greeted us. As soon as I saw the second girl, I knew she wasn’t really from Colombia. This girl was dressed up in baggy pants, with a big baggy t-shirt, she had a ton of tatoos and her hair was a little sloopy. Immediately I thought: “A Colombian girl wouldn’t be caught dead, out in public looking like this girl”. It’s the truth. You don’t know how many times I’ve heard Colombian girls mention that they can’t go out because they haven’t gotten their hair done, or becuase they’re waiting to do their nails, I love it. I love women who take care of themselves and their appearance.

So this very manly girl working in this store greeted us in Spanish, she didn’t say much so I couldn’t pick up an accent but just by her looks I was certain she wasn’t from Colombia. My friend was browsing some outfits, and my curiosty was driving me crazy so I asked the girl if she’s from here and struck up a conversation. It turns out she was of Colombian decent, but she grew up in the United States. How come I wasn’t surprised? We kept on with the small talk, but the whole time I was thinking in the back of my mind: “What the hell is it that makes women so manly, in the United States?” I mean feminism plays a big role but it’s something about the etire country that really changes most women. This particular girl seemed like a nice enough person, but she dressed like a guy. Maybe she was a lesbian, but even the lesbians in Colombia are a lot more feminine.

I know it doesn’t happen with all women, but it happens a lot more often that anywhere else. And it doesn’t just span one cultural niche in the country, it spans everything from blacks to whites to latinos. This girl was the manliest girl I’d seen in all my time in Colombia, and not just the past six months, and she happened to be from the U.S. She had that whole west coast mexican “chola” look to her. All she needed was a bandana. In case you don’t know what that look is like, it looks something like this:

So I’ve been back in the states for two months after spending about 7 months in Colombia. I’m leaving for Brazil soon, and have a bunch of new blog posts queued up for the next couple of weeks. Since I’ve been back I’ve been dating only Brazilian women and I have a bunch of good info on that for you guys coming up in later blog posts. Luckily for me I don’t live far from Newark New Jersey which has the largest population of Brazilians outside of Brazil, and tons of hot Brazilian women from all over brazil, but this post isn’t about that… It’s about this nasty recession we’re in, and how it’s going to effect dating in the United States and around the world. Don’t buy Obama’s politically motivated claims the recession is over. We all know it’s not over, but all hope isn’t lost. You just have to shift your focus a bit to fit the times we’re living in.

Forget Game, Start Making Money

As the global recession deepens and money becomes more scarce for all people around the world you can bet on one thing. “Game” will loose ground to “Money.” In the past, especially in the United States and the wealthier nations, the economic prosperity of these countries allowed a relatively high standard of living for all. Everybody had money (so no one cared about it), everyone had a car, women were making just as much as men, everyone had a decent paying job.

The bottom half of the pyramid of needs had been fulfilled for all the women, so they started to slack of and get fatter, while the attractive ones got a lot more picky with their choice in men. You didn’t need a good education and job anymore (like in the early 1900s), now you needed seduction skills, and it didn’t matter if a guy with good social skills didn’t have money, because the women probably had their own money, or they had plenty of guys on the side willing and able to support their lifestyles.

Fast forward to 2010, we’re in the midst of a probably a decade long global slump, and maybe an even longer downturn in the U.S. As things gradually get worse, a man’s financial stability will become more and more important once again to women all around the world. As time ticks, attractive American women will no longer have a endless line of guys willing to wine and dine them. As the coffers dry up, they’ll care less and less about a the smooth talkers and more and more about the guys who are financial stable. Don’t get me wrong, social skills will always help, but gone are the days where attractive women (especially spoiled American women) couldn’t give two shits if you had a good job or not.

So what’s the best plan of action for the next decade:

#1: Take care of your finances. Although social skills help, don’t believe all the hype. Take care of your finances. Work hard and make/save money and invest. You can use this money to travel to places like Latin America where you’ll spend less and be able to date many more available and attractive women.

#2: Don’t spend your money on American women. Rather then spend your hard earned money here in America on American women, you should take the lead of the smart money which is investing outside of the U.S. and spend it in places where you’re going to enjoy it more: Eastern Europe, South East Asia, and Latin America. If you can’t travel and have to tough it out in the States or wherever you live the next point is for you.

#3: Embrace the recession. If you a good job and are financially stable, the recession is the best thing that could have happened to you. You have the option of traveling abroad, but your local women will also be more wooed about your financial stability. It will probably get easier to meet and date women if you have your finical house in order.

Just how much money will matter in dating and relationships, depends on just how bad this recession gets. As the supply of financially stable men dries up, their demand will increase. It’s supply and demand. My suggestion is to concentrate on handling our finances because it will undoubtably become more important with your local women, especially in the United States where things are projected to get a lot worse. Remember that money will also allow you travel and take advantage of the much better dating opportunities abroad.

If you’re financially stable, you can afford to spend some time and money to learn some seduction skills, game, etc. Throw in some gym time as well. Depending on what you learn some of it might help, but that stuff comes later in the pyramid of needs, and right now, it’s time to get back to the basics and handle that bottom half of that pyramid. If you already have that bottom half handled, then I suggest you use your financially stability to explore both romantic and financial opportunities abroad.

A lot of times when I think about international dating and meeting and dating foreign women, especially when traveling abroad is involved, I think about the investing in foreign markets. You might think this is a weird connection, but let me explain…

About three years ago before I started traveling full time, I started to get worried about the U.S. economy. Real estate prices were tumbling for months on end, and most people in the main stream media were forecasting a booming recovery. There were a few people who I happened to catch by luck that seemed a bit more realistic, and who were predicting a huge downturn.

I read up on both sides of the story and the “dooms day” people seemed to have a lot more common sense and facts behind them.

Many of these “dooms day” investors had been recommending investing in foreign markets for the past 10 years and they had seen much better returns then in the U.S. markets. Regardless of this, most of consensus among mainstream investors was that the U.S. was by far the safest place to invest, hands down, no questions asked.

I decided that the mainstream media was just propaganda, and I decided to listen to the few investors who were investing abroad because this strategy made more sense to me.

I don’t have a lot of money to invest but I decided to move the little I had over to foreign markets, which by mainstream standards was the riskiest move of all.

Three years later, I can tell you from personal experience, that I made the right choice. Many of my acquaintances, co-workers and friends got killed in 2008 in the U.S markets, and they still haven’t recovered to this day. Meanwhile I’ve seen my investments increase dramatically, even with all the volatility in the global markets.

So this brings me back to my original point. If you ask 90% of people they think your crazy if you invest in foreign markets and not in the U.S. but all these people missed the boom in foreign markets over the past 10 years.

It’s the same with International dating. Most people will throw out objections and reasons why you shouldn’t travel to Colombia, or Costa Rica, or Brazil or a host of other places to meet women. But those are the same 90% who probably missed one of the best investment opportunities of the decade: investing in foreign markets and precious metals.

Yes there are risks to traveling to places like Colombia. Mainly safety. But the risks are well worth the rewards. And it’s not a warzone either. It’s not like you’re heading into Baghdad. There’s probably more petty crime in Colombia then your own back yard, this is true, but if you take the recommended safety precautions, and don’t let yourself get taken advantage of, the risks are minimal and the rewards are probably better that anything you’ve experienced.

You can call me the Dr. Doom of U.S. dating. I’m telling you dating abroad is the better option. I’ve written a book about why it IS the better option, and I’ve listed all my research including government, and international statistics that are hard to argue against. It’s called The Global Dating Revolution. I’m not telling you it’s risk-less, nothing in life is risk-less, but the risk of staying local and not really having the options with women that you really want are much worse in my mind then having a bit more physical risk in a place like Brazil or Colombia but being satisfied with your relationship or your dating life.

“There’s just too much competition. There’s too many good looking women around here to compete with.” That’s what she told me as we were riding in the taxi. We were headed down Calle 72 in the northern part of Barranquilla. It was our second date, and we were headed to the mall to walk around and do some window shopping.

I’m not sure exactly how it came up. But it wasn’t the first time I’ve heard attractive women complain about the tough female competition in Latin America.

The thing that always gets me, is that I’ve never heard a woman complain once about the tough female competition in the United States. But in Latin America, no matter what country I’ve been to, I always run into women who complain about the dating environment.

I’ve heard it from Ecuadorian women, Brazilian women, Colombia women, Peruvian women, and even Bolivian women, just to name a few. Not every girl complains but enough women complain to the point where you start asking yourself? Is there really something to this?

But when it comes to American women I’ve never had one complain in my presence. I read an article on a website about an American woman who couldn’t compete with the Latinas in Miami, but other then that, it’s never happened.

So what gives? Are Latinas just whiners? Or is there something else going on here?

10 years ago I might have just chalked all this complaining to coincidence. But today I’m a much more experienced guy, and I know the REAL reasons why so many women complain in Latin America. I’ve cataloged and detailed everything in my book about International Dating and Foreign Women. Once you read it, you’ll have the upper hand over all those guys that have no clue why Latin American women complain about their local female competition.

A recent article on Newsweek titled “Seeking Opportunity Abroad,” detailed how an increasing number graduates from the U.S.A’s top business schools are seeking jobs abroad instead of staying right here in the United States.

Here’s a small excerpt of the article:

When Mahesh Murarka graduated from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in June 2009, he shunned the traditional B-school path of accepting a job in banking, consulting, or marketing in New York, London, or San Francisco. Instead, he returned to his native India to work for a reinsurance company with headquarters in Switzerland. “There is a lot more opportunity here right now,” he says. “The change in India is mind-blowing.”

Many of the nation’s top business schools report an increase in the number of students who are interested in working overseas in emerging markets such as India, China, Russia, and Brazil. Roughly 25 percent of recent Wharton M.B.A. graduates are now working abroad, compared with 16 percent a few years ago, and the trend no longer applies simply to international M.B.A. students who opt to return home after earning their degrees. In addition to working in finance and consulting, these M.B.A. students are moving overseas to work in real estate, investing, energy, and infrastructure. “It definitely feels like it’s not a temporary hiccup,” says Michelle Antonio, director of the MBA Career Management at Wharton. “The students feel like that’s where the action is.”

What’s good for the MBA is good for the average guy who wants to better his dating results. If there can be more opportunity abroad for a person’s career. Or if there can more investment opportunities abroad. Or if companies can see more opportunities to expand abroad. Can there also be opportunities to better your dating results abroad?

The answer is: Can I Get a Hell Yeah!?

There are places on this planet where dating, and meeting women is tougher (from a man’s point of view). There are also places in this world like Latin America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia where meeting women and dating is easier. Of course nothing will be handed to you on a silver platter. There are obstacles to overcome, like language, culture, time constraints, etc.

Despite all international dating obstacles it’s never been easier to expand your search for women, love, and romance abroad. But regardless of all the obstacles the bottom line is that there is more opportunity abroad, both for recent college graduates, and for regular guys who want want to improve their dating results.

There are numerous reasons why it’s going to take a long time for you to hit your stride in foreign countries. Some of these include:

• How well you know the language
• How fast you find the best night spots or if you know where they are
• How fast you find the best day spots or if you know where they are
• How fast you get use to the culture
• Overcoming stereotypes of you as a foreigner

These main barriers are the usual road blocks abroad. The most important one being language. But all of this doesn’t mean that dating environments abroad can’t be better then your local dating environment. Sometimes it just takes time to hit your stride.

Although language can be barrier, as long as you obtain some conversational fluency, it shouldn’t be much of a problem.

What you need to do is focus on the obstacles and overcoming them…

Overcoming stereotypes:
One of the main stereotypes you’ll encounter abroad, especially in Latin America is the fact that people will think you’re a rich American who’s only there to bang prostitutes. I’ve seen this all over Latin America. A lot of these stigmas come from past Americans and past foreigners who have come to Latin American countries for just that. These guys have given the rest of the “gringos” a bad name, but it is something that will change with time. The only way to get by this stereotype is to stay away from the “prepagos” or working girls, and in some cases from the places where these women frequent.

Overcoming style differences:
If you have an eccentric style like that of a rocker in the U.S.A you might have a tough time fitting in unless you find your perfect niche inside the city you’re visiting. American rock isn’t that popular throughout most of Latin America. In some cities the music might be popular but the style is pretty much non existent. The same can be said for a hip-hop type of style with fitted caps etc. You might find certain venues that cater to the music in certain large Latin America cities but in general these styles won’t help in Latin America. In these cases I would suggest you try to fit in more by changing your style a bit, to something you feel more comfortable with, but something that is more common throughout Latin America.

Finding The Best Night Spots:
In large cities the size of Buenos Aires or Bogota or even Medellin sometimes it’s taken me up to one month to find the really good night spots. I’m talking about the spots where you might be the only foreigner in the place and places that are loaded with single women. Also, these same places might be the best places to approach women who don’t speak any English.

It takes a lot of trial and error, asking around, checking different places out on different nights. In the first week you’ll find the most well know, places. Usually people will point you the priciest most well known place in the city, for example if you’re in Medellin and get in a taxi or ask anyone, they’ll tell you to go to Mangos or El Poblado, but I’ve found they’re not the best place to meet single women in Medellin.

If you’re lucky you’ll find the best places on the first week, but I usually don’t expect to find them until week 3 or 4, sometimes longer. And you’ll only find these places by being persistent and going out often.

Latin American is a very large region with a population almost double that of the United States. However, most of the countries in Latina America share one thing in common: a very pronounced class division based on economic prosperity. Certain countries like Costa Rica and Chile have less income and wealth inequality, therefore their class division isn’t as pronounced, but practically every other country in Latin America has these pronounced social borders that separate the different economic classes.

Much of this class division stems from the fact that Latin America is the most unequal region in the world in terms of income distribution. Although the level of poverty, violence, and underdevelopment is no where near many of the African countries the reasons why Latin America is the most unequal region is because very few people hold untold amounts of wealth, while the rest of the population gets by on very little. This doesn’t mean that most of the people in Latin America are starving, but it does mean that many people struggle economically, meanwhile the wealthy live like kings and take vacations to Europe, and North America like it’s nothing.

Most of the inequality in Latin America is not due a lack of talent, or willingness to work of the general public. The lack of progress in equalizing the wealth in these countries is due mostly in part to due to a continuing cycle of inequality, where corrupt governments promise change, only to rob and steal from the people and allying themselves with a few powerful interests and looting the countries coffers for themselves.

When you interact with a foreigner or a foreign girl, her outlook on life and her attitude will depend largely on which social class she belongs in her country.

Upper Class:
These are the minority and the wealthiest people in any country. The upper class throughout Latin America is very small but they’re also very very wealthy. Upper class people enjoy perks, and lifestyles that 95% of their countrymen don’t.

When it comes to meeting and dating an upper class Latin American girl, it may be much like dating an American woman. In many cases it’s because these women have had lavish lifestyles, and maybe even spent time abroad, for example getting an education at an American university. Overall I’ve noticed the most Americanized social class is the upper class, and for this reason when I’m in Latin America it’s just not my thing. Having said all this, if upper class women are your thing, I’m sure you’ll be able to find some humble, down earth, upper class Latin woman, if you look hard enough, but I wouldn’t overlook the middle, and upper middle class women.

Middle Class:
The middle class is larger then the upper class and can range anywhere from 10% to 30% of the population but is still very small compared to the middle class of other regions of the world, particularly the United States. Middle class people are generally more humble then their upper class counterparts. These are generally the people who vacation locally or to countries near by, they may have a family car and live in a decent home, and study at the 2nd tier universities. In general I find middle class women the best choices for dating abroad.

Lower Class:
The lower class population is usually the largest segment in most Latin American countries. In general this segment of the population lives in the more dangerous sections of town. Although they aren’t starving, they get by on very little. Usually it’s tough to get an college education because of the need to help the family out and work even starting at a young age, and because of the lack of money for an education.

The problem you’ll have with these women is the fact that they live in dangerous neighborhoods and the fact the most important thing for them may be economic stability. However, if you know how to navigate these waters, you’ll be able to weed out the the women who are only gold digging. Other then that, these women are easy to please material wise, they’re humble, and hard working.

My Strategy:
I generally like to meet and date women from the range of “lower-upper class” all the way through the “upper-lower class” (if that makes sense). If we broke up the social classes into 6 divisions, 1 being the lowest and six being the highest (wealthiest), like they do in Colombia, I would probably say I aim to stay in the range from 2 through 5.

OVERVIEW:
Over the years, through traveling and interaction with foreign women I’ve realized that there are many differences in the way they act, think, and carry themselves. Foreign women aren’t as guarded, they’re more friendly for the most part, are more prone to be family oriented. In this article and video I list some of the differences I’ve noticed about foreign women.

Is there really a difference between the women of most advanced and economically developed nations (Australia, U.S, Canada, Western Europe – I’ll refer to all of these women as “American women” for the sake of clarity within this article) and those of the developing nations (Latin America, Eastern Europe, South East Asia – I’ll refer to all of these women as “foreign women” throughout this article)? I firmly believe, as many other men do, that there are some deep rooted differences.

In many respects these foreign women are giving American women a run for their money. Many men are flocking to marriage agencies, international dating sites, and embarking on trips to foreign lands in search of romance with these foreign women. Marriage between foreign women and American men is at an all time high, and growing each year.

So what makes these foreign women so different from American women?

#1. Foreign women tend to have more traditional, old fashioned values. The type of values that many American women had back in the early and mid 1900’s. In many ways, these old fashioned values have been lost with American women. Much of this is due to the women’s liberation movement. Although this movement brought about many positive changes for women, it also sacrificed many of the old fashioned, family oriented, values and placed women’s primary focus not on the family, but on their career. Foreign women tend to put their family first, before anything else, even their careers. In a sense many of these foreign women are not unlike the grand mothers and great grand mothers of the current generation of American women.

#2. Foreign women tend to stay in shape much more then American women. There is no doubt that the wealthiest countries are suffering from an obesity epidemic. Many studies have shown that women more prone to gain weight then men. In the United States for example, women are more more prone to be obese even at young ages. This is not only a health issue, but it robes these women of their feminine curves. Foreign women don’t have this problem. They maintain their feminine curves even into their 30’s and 40’s.

#3. Foreign women treat men better then American women. One small example is the fact that many foreign women love to cook for their man. It’s not uncommon to find women that love to cook not only for their partner, but for their entire family. Foreign women don’t see these types of acts as burdens, or forms of submissiveness. On the contrary, they see these types of acts as privileges, and it solidifies their roles within the relationship (and family) as a nurturing and caring figure.

#4. Foreign women are less materialistic. Foreign women who have grown up in less developed countries not fallen prey to the consumer-driven mindset many American women (and men) have been indoctrinated into. They’ve learned to get by on much less. They’ve probably sacrificed material things throughout their life, and they’ve learned to cherish and care for the things that really matter. In this way, foreign women are much easier to please when it comes to materiel wealth. On the other hand, many men find it hard to please American women who have become accustomed to a certain level of material wealth.

#5. Foreign women love North American, and Western European men. Just as foreign women treat men better then American women. American men treat foreign women better then their local men. Many of these foreign women have to deal with men who don’t appreciate them, cheat on them, and an environment that favors men in many ways. American men are a much welcomed change for foreign women, because they treat them better on many levels. It this sense it’s a match made in heaven because both parties treat each other better then what they are accustomed to.

#6. Foreign women are more open to dating older men. It’s not that uncommon for foreign women to date much older men within their own culture. My mother was 10 years younger then my father. I’ve known foreign couples where the man was 20 years older then woman. The popular Mexican artist wrote a song title “40 and 20″ (40 y 20 by Jose Jose). It was a love song about a 40 year old man who was dating a 20 year old woman, you can find it on youtube.

With the advent of the Internet, it’s getting much easier for American men to meet and correspond with foreign women. Foreign women have never been more accessible then they are today and for many American men, like myself, they have become the better option. This is not to say there aren’t women in the United States or Western Europe who have all of these qualities. There are many good, old fashioned women, who take care of themselves here as well, but I’ve found that all of the these women are already committed and taken.
