  This is a great piece. It accurately reflects my experiences with Russian women. And while it isn’t indicated here, most of what is presented applies to Ukrainian women as well.

  I want to enlighten men who hope to meet women in Russia or Ukraine about what they can expect.

  Tip #1: First of all, if you use a site like anastasiaweb.com, you will get ripped off. These sites partner with marriage agencies in Eastern Europe, and these agencies are mostly scams. There are men who find women via these agencies who actually do get married, and the wife produces children, etc. BUT 85% or more of these introductions will result in NOTHING. I know several girls from this site personally, and they told me the inside scoop on the inner-workings of these agencies. The following is from one girl who is still listed on anastasiaweb. She told me she signed up because her friend who worked at the agency asked her to. This girl would get paid about $1-2 USD per response letter, and she would often respond for OTHER girls on the site in addition to letters written to her. She was paid about $20 USD to meet at a cafe with for an hour with foreign men who went on the tours offered on the site. Finally, she said she was sent gifts like perfume, clothes, and even jewelry by men from Canada and the US. She never had any feelings for these men, nor did any of these men get to bed her. Out of the other girls I know on the site, one is a stripper at a casino (obviously doesn’t say that on anastasiaweb), and the others are professional models. They all have boyfriends in real life, so they’re not even available to go out with the men who use the site. They all would love to move out of their native country – not really for economic reasons, but for this fairy-tale they have in their heads about America. But they’re not looking for love – despite what their corny profiles say.

  Tip #2: You would be better off skipping these dating sites and taking a trip instead. If you want to experience them, go to their native land and stay for a couple of months. A week is not enough time to bed a non-prostitute, so you’ll just get yourself all sexed up and become an Eastern European addict. That means you’ll keep going back for a week several times a year, meeting more girls with each trip, but never really seeing what it is all about. I know many foreigners who are addicts, and I would consider myself one, too. The only difference is that I don’t have to travel there anymore in order to get the girls- now they come to me- and I do get to sleep with them.

  If you make the trip, go to smaller or remote cities. When I first went to Russia in 2004, Americans were still a novelty, and foreign guys were like rock stars. I could pick up any girl that spoke a little English, and it was no contest with Russian guys (mostly scrawny dorks with no money). The scene has changed entirely as Russian men have money now, and the major cities have been overwhelmed by foreigners (specifically Italians, Turks, and Scandinavians looking for single women). If you go to small cities (1 million or less), you will still be treated like a rock star because chances are these girls have not been exposed to any foreigners. Things will be much cheaper, too, as St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kiev have become as expensive as major US cities now. Tip#3: You better hit Ukraine before the Euro Cup in 2012 (soccer tournament that will draw thousands of male visitors from Western Europe), or those girls in smaller cities will grow street smart or will be taken out of Ukraine altogether.
